Gaston Browne made his son a potential target in U.S. federal court when he fined a defamation case against attorney Martin De Luca and his firm in Antigua and Barbuda.
Because of the way U.S. law works, Browne’s defamation suit allows de Luca and the Boies Schiller Flexner (BSF) firm to go after Andron and others for supplemental discovery because they are located in Florida.
The lawsuit, which Browne filed shortly before he called for a snap election this week, created an additional “foreign proceeding,” which strengthens the grounds for de Luca and BSF to justify expanded discovery in the U.S. against yacht brokers and others in Florida.
This includes Andron – Gaston A. Browne III – who is described as a financial proxy of his father and who has residence in Florida.
Andron may be forced to provide evidence to De Luca about his father’s corruption.
Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov’s April 25, 2026 filing in federal court in Miami explicitly relies on Prime Minister Browne’s defamation action to justify new discovery against the yacht brokers and individuals – like Andron – positioned to authenticate and explain certain documents in the Alfa Nero case.
