The yacht broker who arranged the sale of the Alfa Nero wrote his colleagues about “an intense 4 days of negotiation with the prime minister” to agree on a severely reduced price for the superyacht.

This came to light in a July 3, 2024 email from yacht broker Richard Higgins to his colleagues, made public in an April 25, 2026 filing by attorneys for the previous owner of the Alfa Nero.

The email, an exhibit, downloaded from the U.S. Department of Justice’s PACER system, is available here. It is attached to a legal memorandum, filed April 25 at federal court in Miami to advance discovery of the Alfa Nero case because of new facts that came to light.

An image of the email appears above.
