PM Browne is arranging for one of his cronies to be Governor General, some say so his wealthy ABLP friend can avoid possible prosecution in the U.S. by hiding behind King Charles III.
Browne’s inner circle is saying that Dr. Joey John is going to replace Sir Rodney Williams as Governor General after the election.
John is not publicly accused of criminal activity in the U.S.
However, he is of interest in Washington because of his involvement in the flawed CBI scheme, and in running a medical practice to treat people with an expensive, unproven cancer treatment process during which people died.
This switch might not go over too well with ABLP Chairman Chet Greene, whose Saint Paul constituency reveres the Williams family.
MariaBirdBrowne.com has heard that Browne is planning “to give Dr. John some level of avoiding U.S. indictment because of alleged cancer therapy fraud.”
“The strategy is that Dr. John will be representing the king, so the Governor General post, Browne hopes, will shield him from criminal prosecution in the United States,” the source said.
The New York Times broke the story about Dr. John on January 23, 2025, centering on on his role in an experimental cancer‑treatment program run at his clinic in partnership with a U.S. company, in which terminal cancer patients paid large sums for an unproven blood‑filtering cancer therapy.
Dr. John has strongly denied the allegations and defended rebutted the charges, concerning his US$45,000-per-treatment insertion of a catheter, made by ExThera in California, in cancer patients that supposedly filtered out cancerous cells from blood. He issued an official statement defending his medical business, calling allegations of substandard or unethical practices “systematically untrue.”
